At Hylas, we believe in the power of giving back to the community, and today, we are thrilled to share an inspiring story of how we’ve teamed up with a local elementary school’s sailing team.
We believe that extracurricular activities like sailing are so important in fostering teamwork, discipline, and a love for the great outdoors.
We learned that the sailing team was suffering due to budgetary constraints and that the condition of their sailing craft had deteriorated to a point where consideration was being given to discontinuing the program. We knew we just had to lend a hand.
Here’s a glimpse of what we’re doing:
Boat Repairs and Maintenance Clinics: Our skilled team of technicians will be volunteering their time to conduct workshops and clinics on boat repairs and maintenance. This hands-on experience will not only address the immediate issues but also empower the students with essential skills for the future.
Donation of Supplies: We understand that quality materials are crucial for the longevity of the boats. Hylas will be donating the necessary supplies and equipment to ensure that the sailing team has access to top-notch resources for their repairs.
Community Engagement Event: To celebrate the spirit of community and collaboration, we’re planning a special event where the Shanwei Elementary School sailing team, their families, and our Hylas team can come together for a day of fun, learning, and appreciation.
