A new boat is a fulfilment of a life long dream – with thirty years of development, Hylas builds to the highest standards using the finest materials, superb engineering and great designs. Each hull is hand laid up solid fibreglass using only the finest materials, including state of the art non-woven glass, vinyl ester resins and isophthalic gel coats. In addition we add an additional two layers of epoxy barrier coat in the hull to further prevent osmotic blistering. Watertight bulkheads both forward and aft are incorporated in all our yachts – a vital feature if sailing offshore. Our hulls in our larger yachts (an option for the Hylas 46 and Hylas 49) are further enhanced by using Twaron, an engineered fibre stronger than steel which is 60% lighter and twice as strong as normal fibreglass. The added hull strength gives not only great piece of mind to the offshore sailor but also great performance – a lighter and stronger hull allows you to go faster.
